The Pike County Board of Education has tentatively adopted a millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 4.6% percent over the rollback rate.
All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on this tax increase to be held at Pike County Schools Board Room, 7450 Hwy 19 South., Zebulon, Georgia on August 18, 2016 at 6 PM. Times and places of additional public hearings on this tax increase are at Pike County Schools Board Room, 7450 Hwy 19 South., Zebulon, Georgia on August 11, 2016 at 11:45 AM and again at 6:00 PM on that same day.
This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 16.147 mills, an increase of .71 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 15.437 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $150,000 is approximately $42 and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $100,000 is approximately $28.
